This Homann map depicts the regions of Europe which border the south shore of the Baltic Sea including Estonia and the northern part of Latvia, an area that was formerly part of Livonia.
Highly detailed, the map denotes cities, villages, castles and fortifications. Topography is shown pictorially, with forests, mountains, the Baltic Sea, rivers, waterways and lakes all delineated. The map is embellished with an ornate title cartouche featuring a group of well-armed putti. A small distance legend cartouche in the lower right features putti and a cornucopia.
Condition: Map is in A+ condition with exceptional original color on bright paper that exhibits a curious sparkly sheen to it. Margins are full on all sides and without any tears.
