This large highly detailed chart of the northern coastline of Cuba and part of the Bahamas was published under the auspices of the Contra-Amiral Decres Ministre de la Marine et des Colonies of France and is very rarely on the market.
The chart contains encyclopedic information for marine navigational purposes, including countless depth soundings, rhumb lines radiating from a large number of points for detailed charting and plotting of courses, safe anchorages are denoted, tidal information provided, and more.
Condition: Large double-page folio chart, engraved by Etienne Collin, with lettering by Besancon, in excellent condition. Beautiful heavy watermarked paper with seal of the French Depot de la Marine.
