An impressive cartographic work showing the varied topography of Mesa Verde National Park. Bordered on the west and south by the Mountain Ute Reservation, the splendor of Mesa Verde is found within its many canyons formed by the rivers that flow north to south from the top of the mesa. Each canyon is named and ancient cliff dwellings are noted throughout the map along with mines, trails, railroads, bridges, etc. The contour lines offer an accurate depiction of the topography of Mesa Verde with altitudes provided at every opportunity.
About Mesa Verde National Park
Located in the southwestern section of Montezuma County, in Colorado, the Park is known for its' unique Puebloan cliff dwellings. Discovered in 1889, authorized by Theodore Roosevelt, in 1906, this 81 square mile treasure was at one time home to the Anasazi people. Approximately, 600,000 tourists visit the park and Archeological Museum annually. A visitor can tour a cliff dwelling, visit the museum, view petroglyphs, attend a campfire program, & view wildlife.
