1875 Our World No. 2. or Second Series of Lessons in Geography
By: Mary L. Hall
Date: 1875 (published) Boston, MA
Dimensions: 12 x 10.25 inches (30.5 x 26 cm)
This is a very fine example of Mary Hall's 2nd series of Our World, Geography published by the Ginn Brothers out of Boston in 1875. As stated in the title, this is the 2nd of a two volume atlas set produced for educators and their students.
The atlas covers all topics related to geography, from celestial diagrams, to the flora, fauna and human civilizations found throughout the world as well as lessons on natural resources, climate, governments, and history. The cover of this atlas is particularly striking, comprised of a collage of images representing people, wildlife, and methods of transportation found throughout the world in the final quarter of the 19th century.
Condition: Atlas is in B+ condition with slight wear to the original leather spine and a few chips to the cover boards. Otherwise, this is one of the nicer examples of this atlas we have ever encountered.
