This interesting sea chart by Giovanni Tommaso Masi depicts a portion of the drainage system of the Chagre River in central Panama, the largest river in the watershed of the Panama Canal. The work focuses on the estuary and port of the river on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, and includes the village of Chagre(s), the castle of San Lorenzo, and Fort della Punta. Topography includes place names, vegetation, drainage, lagoons, islands, coastlines and water depths as well as coordinate points, a bar scale and a compass rose.
