This intriguing map presents the world (with oceans minimized) according to the international drug trade. Origins and areas of production for marijuana, heroine, cocaine, amphetamines, hash, and quaaludes are noted throughout the map. Also shown is the important mechanism of money laundering and the refinement of some of the worlds most addictive and dangerous drugs.
On the verso, a separate map titled "A Guide to International Trade Routes," is laid upon a variation of the Gringorten projection. It shows the routes of marijuana, heroine, quaaludes, coke, and khat as they move from their origin to different countries around the world for refinement and/or sale. Additional information in provided with text throughout the map.
High Times Magazine was founded in 1974 by Tom Forçade as a single-issue lampoon of Playboy, substituting weed for sex. The magazine advocates the legalization of cannabis and has been involved in the marijuana-using counterculture since its inception. During the time of publication the magazine was aptly funded by drug money from the sale of illegal marijuana.
Condition: The map is in A condition, printed to typical magazine paper with previous staple holes are present, but not distracting to the eye.
