An original vintage poster for the 1980 science fiction movie Flash Gordon, starring Sam Jones as Flash Gordon, Max Von Sydow as Ming the Merciless, and Melody Anderson as Dale Arden. The soundtrack for the entire film was done by the British rock sensation Queen with Freddy Mercury as their lead singer.
The artwork for this poster was done by Richard Amsel and features Flash Gordon guarding Dale Arden with a long golden sword against Ming the Merciless and the winged bird-men of Prince Vultan who would eventually join their cause and help defeat the army of Ming. The 1980 movie that was based on a 1934 comic strip is now regarded by many as a cult-classic film, having never achieved the fame of Star Wars.
Condition: This original poster is in A condition, professionally linen backed for preservation and presentation purposes. Any short edge tears have been closed and reinforced and any distress to the paper from original folds have been touched up to offer a exceptional eye-appeal.
