This energetic map of the state of Florida is filled with tourist activity, nature, culture and history. Some noteworthy depictions include a scuba diver collecting sponges, a ferry boat to Havana, a Seminole Indian baiting an alligator, Ponce de Leon naming Florida while searching for the fountain of youth, an early racecar in Daytona, and numerous beach-goers and boaters.

This fascinating pictorial map of Florida was published in 1935 by Ruth Taylor. It appeared in the atlas published by Taylor and her husband Frank Taylor entitled “Our U.S.A. - a Gay Geography,” with the maps done by Ruth and the text by her husband. The map provides local color and flavor, depicting cultural stereotypes, agriculture, industries and activities of the state.

Condition: This map is in B+ condition with some erased pencil markings in the right-center giving a light fade to the map.
