This print shows a matador and bull in action in an arena. Wearing a traje de luces, or “suit of lights,” the matador is shown as he pulls the cloak (capote) away from the charging bull. The bull pictured is likely a Spanish Fighting Bull, a species native to the Iberian Peninsula. Spanish-style bullfighting is one of the most instantly recognizable of traditional Spanish events. The title text “Spain” in a highly-stylized red font with white borders.

With beautiful coloring and fine composition, this vintage print of Spain is a sterling example of a 1960s travel poster.
