A Bird's Eye View of The Heart of Paris with it's Best Hotels, Restaurants and Shows Conceived and Pin Pointed by Grand Marnier

By: G. Pentier / Grand Marnier

Date: 1951 (published) Paris

Dimensions: 28.5 x 43.5 inches (72.5 x 110.5 cm)

An exciting traveler's map of Paris presented in its iconic bird's eye view style and published in celebration of the 2,000th Anniversary of Paris by Grand Marnier. Inspired by the 18th-century landmark map by Michel-Étienne Turgot and incorporating the original view drawn by Georges Peltier, this stunning portrayal of Paris captures the timeless splendor that has enchanted millions of tourists for centuries.

The map prominently showcases historical and architectural landmarks throughout the city, including the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, Palais du Justice, Notre-Dame, Place Vendôme, Palais Royale, and of course, the Eiffel Tower to name a few. Distributed throughout the image are red and blue symbols, meticulously elucidated by the accompanying legends, pinpointing the positions of renowned restaurants, hotels, theaters, cabarets, and a variety of other tourist points of interest within the city. Major train stations are carefully illustrated, while the Seine River bustles with boats and sailing ships.

The outside overs of the map contain advertisements for Gand Marnier and American Express Travel Service, while the inside and back cover lists hundreds of important places for travelers with their address and coordinates for their location map. A lovely preface by Mr. Jean Auburtin along with his printed signature can be found on the bottom front cover.

Condition: Map is in A condition with some ware and bends to the covers. The map itself is splendid with bright colors, clean paper, and very few fold separations, which are nearly unavoidable for folding maps.
