This is an original, uncolored sea chart of the coast of Normandy, France and the islands of Jersey Guernsey (Grenezey), and Alderny (Aurigny) that reside within the English Channel. The map was published by Alexis Hubert Jaillot out of Paris in 1693 (circa) as part of his nautical atlas, 'Le Neptune Francois ou Atlas Nouveau des Cartes Marines.' Nautical elements such as rhumb lines, compass roses, local water hazards, and depth soundings fill map with an undeniable decorative quality.
Condition: This map is in a condition with some minor marginal tears and some soiling in the top center. Some light dampstaining is apparent but predominantly confined to the margins.
