General Franz Siegel was a German American military officer, revolutionary and immigrant to the United States who served as a major general for the Union Army, during the American Civil War. He is remembered, in part for his distinct ability to recruit German-speaking immigrants to the Union armies, which was recognized by Abraham Lincoln. Siegel commanded a number of regiments from throughout Missouri and Arkansas and is (as the print suggests) regarded as "the Hero of Missouri." 

Condition: Print is in B condition with a 1 inch tear in the top margin that has been reinforced on the verso. The print is sharp and of high quality, done on heavy paper with some minor foxing.
