1935 Missouri
By: Ruth Taylor White
Date: 1938 (published) Boston
Dimensions: 12.5 x 9.25 inches (31 x 23 cm)
This colorful lithograph of the state of Missouri uses some stereotypical images often seen during this period of time. The Mississippi River is prominently displayed, as is a donkey vignette, eating hay, in the upper right-hand corner. On the lower left is a pictorial box of two people picking cotton from the southeastern part of the state. Fur trappers and even Lindy's plane add to the colorful display of characters.
