Fortune Magazine Cover, October 1939
By: Antonio Petruccelli
Date: October, 1939
Dimensions: 13.75 x 11.75 inches
A quite serious and deliberate cover for the beginnings of WWII, depicting a round table meeting of business executives and/or political figures. All the members shown at the round table have no facial features, and tie color alternates around the group between both blue and red. Possibly commentary regarding employment numbers in the United States during the time period. The print uses the typical three dimensional window style framing of the WWII era Fortune Magazine covers, to appear as one cohesive image.
Condition: This magazine cover is in B condition, with no visible toning, color fading or tears. The print’s margin is trimmed off on the left hand side, and a “Decatur Public Library” stamp appears in the upper right.
