This lovely antique print of early Chicago, in 1895, is a view looking South down Ashland Avenue. The stately mansions adorned the Street, along with tall trees, pristine sidewalks and streets, noticeably void of traffic. This image was made one year before the automobile came into existence, thus altering the peaceful roadways.
There is descriptive text in French beneath the image, as well as another image on the verso, featuring 3 poor Negroes in a Cabin, in Thomasville, Georgia.
Condition: Good, suitable for framing.
