1925 View of New York and Vicinity Showing Good Automobile Roads
By: George J. Norstrand
Date: 1925 (circa) New York
Dimensions: 19 x 28.5 inches (48.25 cm x 72.4 cm)
This is a brightly colored bird's-eye view of greater New York City, from Staten Island to White Plains, and with portions of New Jersey and Long Island. The map exhibits exceptional detail, showing thousands of buildings, and numerous roads, landmarks, railroads and ferry lines. The proposed George Washington Bridge is illustrated, which helps date the map, as the bridge was constructed between 1927 and 1931. This is a visually appealing piece that shows a time when much of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx primarily consisted of farms and fishing villages.
Condition: This map is in A condition. Issued folding with vivid color and a few tiny splits at fold intersections closed on verso with archival tape.
