This authentic hand-colored antique map from Mitchell’s New General Atlas depicts the city of Philadelphia. Details include wards, streets, public buildings, ferries, Windmill or Smith’s Island, steamboat routes, railroads, etc.
The flow of the Delaware River is indicated by an arrow and labeled ‘Course of the Current’; its waterfront is rendered in great detail with jetties, wharves, docks and piers clearly defined. The Schuylkill River is in the top center.
The map is framed by a distinctive floral and vine-leaf border.
Condition: This print is in A condition with light toning around the edges.
