This authentic antique hand-colored (original) map is from the third American edition of the Atlas. All texts are in English, thus making the Atlas a popular addition to American libraries of the time, both private and public.
Aspin based his work on the compilations of Lavoisne, who had collected information on all aspects of life, writing descriptions in great detail, including all facets of geography, demographics, climate, terrain, wildlife, etc., even including a historical section on the origin of the Scots.
Specifically, topics include such pertinent and diverse topics as Situations, Boundaries, and Extent, Climate, Soil, Produce, etc.; Natural History, Islands. Virtually every topic of import concerning Scotland is covered in the text.
Condition: This map is in A condition with one smudge in the right border. Good strong, dark impression.
