By: Roger Stoller
Date: 1970s
Dimensions: 16.75 x 14 inches (42.5 x 35.5 cm)
A sketchbook with fourteen pages of drawings by Roger Stoller, the renowned American designer and artist known for his work with Buckminster Fuller as well as his large-scale public artworks. With a background in architecture, Stoller, like Fuller, draws inspiration from natural systems and mathematical patterns to create fluid, dynamic sculptures. It is unknown if the works in this sketchbook were ever produced. Roger Stoller’s furniture from the 1970s was occasionally created by specialized workshops and manufacturers that were known for high-quality craftsmanship. Specific producers or workshops associated with his work during that time might include small, high-end furniture makers or design studios that were capable of executing Stoller’s designs with the required level of precision and quality.
Stoller is known for his “Halo” installation at San Francisco International Airport and works installed in the City of Palo Alto and around the Google campus. Stoller's works have been featured in numerous corporate, public, and private collections.
Condition: Fragile yet stable overall with general toning and edge wear and light tearing to the edges of most pages.
