Original color lithograph from "Plates illustrative of the researches and operations of G. Belzoni in Egypt and Nubia" by Giovanni Battista Belzoni in 1822. Plate was etched by I. Clark based on a drawing by G. Belzoni. Published in London in 1820 by John Murray.
Plates depict arched buildings and animal mummies common to Ancient Egypt.
"As many as eight colours are used on one plate for the coloured illustrations, and the colouring is skilfully done" (Abbey). "This was the first English work of any importance to use lithography" (Blackmer). (Abbey, 268; Blackmer, 117).
Condition: Prints are in very fine condition showing vibrant color on clean paper with wide margins.
