An original late 19th century fine art print of a painting by the American artist H. Sandham that was on display at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This antique print, etched by Xavier Le Sueur was part of the 1893 Geo. Barrie publication of Art and Architecture by William Walton.
The artist portrays an assemblage of Indians, Sailors and Colonists against the smoking muskets. The original description that accompanies this print describes the work as follows;
"One of the most important compostions in the Canadian galleries is this carefully arranged restoration of one of the most romantic and picturesque incidents in early colonial history."
Condition: This print is in A condition on heavy 19th century fine art paper that displays an embossed Columbian Exposition stamp of authenticity. No tears, holes, or foxing.
