1873 Farm Residences of Warren & Clarno
By: Warner Higgins & Beers
Date: 1873 (published) Chicago
Dimensions: 16 x 13 inches
This is a lovely lithograph presenting two views of homes in Illinois during the 18th century. The print features the homes of Uriah Warren and Stephen Clarno, in Logan County, located in Southern Illinois.
The top scene shows a rather lively view of a farm house, with abundant fencing surrounding the vast property. Beneath this scene, is a probably well-to-do farmer, who owns horses, pigs, chickens, cattle, & sheep. The smoke emitting from the chimney and V-shaped geese in the sky, allows one to sense a moment in time from 1873.
Condition: B+ with some light soiling on the edges. The print presents a crisp and clear image with ample margins on all sides for framing.
