By: Ruth Taylor White
Date: 1935 (Published) Boston
Dimensions: 12.5 x 9.25 (23 x 31 cm)
The entire lower left hand section of this map is filled with a vignette, portraying a Sailor and his ship, as well as two Colonists singing "Oh Maryland, my Maryland" The two most visible cities are Baltimore and Washington D.C., on the opposite side of the Potomac River. The U.S. Naval Academy shows cadets at attention. Common to Ruth Taylor White's mapmaking, is a small "window" of an area of the state that wasn't included due to lack of space. She simply places it somewhere else. In this case, the western portion , which includes the Allegheny Mts. and coal mining can be found above and to the left of the title.
Note: Image of map description is not on the verso of this map.
