This is an authentic antique map of Iowa by J. Grässl. The map was published out of Hildburghausen, Germany and is dated 1852.
This attractive steel-engraved map shows the state of Iowa during the mid-nineteenth century. Much of the Iowa population is confined to the eastern third of the state and along a main road that runs the current path of I-80. While the entire state has been divided into small counties many of them, particularly in the northwestern portion are completely unsettled.
Condition: Map is in A condition, with wide margins, and original coloring.
