This is an authentic antique map of Florida with portions of the Bahamas and Cuba, by Jean Alexandre Buchon. The map is from the French edition of Carey & Lea's American Atlas and was published in Paris in the year 1825.

This is an early territorial map of Florida as counties; Escambia in the northwest and St. Johns in the eastern and entire length of the peninsula. The St. John River is shown to run nearly the entire length of the peninsula, originating in Mayaco L. (Lake Okeechobee) and emptying into the Atlantic just north of St. Augustine.

The map is surrounded by text including economic, political, social, geographical, and historical descriptions and statistics. Included in the text is the listing of two governors, Andrew Jackson (1821) and William P. Duval (1822).

Condition: Map is in A condition, with full margins, bright color, and a nice impression of heavy paper. A small wormhole and tear are confined to the margins.
