A first state example of the earliest map of Poland to be published in English.
This map of Poland was published by John Speed as part of his monumental work, "Prospect of the most famous parts of the world," which was the first world atlas to be published by an Englishman. The map is flanked with figures of mostly women depicted in traditional garb of Poland and Silesia. Atop the map are six views of the major cities in the area at the time, including Krakow, Gdansk, Posnan, Crossen, Sandomierz, and Breslau.
