By: Ed Hedemann & Rick Bickhart
Date: 1985 (published)
Dimensions: 16 x 20 inches (40.5 x 50.8 cm)
This is a striking map of the United States presenting the scope of military training and affiliations in high schools and colleges throughout the United States. With an abundance of alarming red color this map is persuasive at its core as it was issued by the War Registers League, a pacifist organization founded in 1923 that is dedicated to campaigning against war and military interventions.
A key at lower right differentiates college from high school ROTC while on the verso, these marking are expounded upon with a complete list of all education institutions and symbols differentiating the various branches of the United States military. At the end of the extensive list, an image shows two hands snapping a rifle in half.
Condition: Map is in A+ condition with vivid color on clean paper with full, crisp margins on all sides.
