This is a striking example of Thomas Bradford's map of New York with portions of Brooklyn, Jersey City, Williamsburg, and Hoboken. The map was published in the 1841 edition of "A New Atlas of the World," by C.D. Strong.

This lithograph map shows the city of New York and surrounding areas color coded by ward with all principal streets delineated and named, important buildings noted, piers, and creeks rendered in fine detail. The map makes a point to note recognize City Hall, Custom House, Merchants Exchange, Columbia College, New York Hospital, and New York University below the title and scale of distance. Other places of interest include a deaf and dumb asylum, Fort Greene, the Navy Yard, Fort Columbus on Governor's Island, and Fort Gibson on Ellis Island.

Condition: This map is in A condition with original outline color and ample margins on all sides. Some faint staining is visible but mostly confined to the margins. The map itself has some light and even offsetting throughout.
