Date: 1932 (circa) Chicago

Dimensions: 10 inches

This is a geographical and statistical wheel from the early 1930s with one side devoted to the continental United States and the other side to Europe. Though no specific company is noted to the wheel, we believe it may have been a product of International At-A-Glance Chart Co. because they produced a very similar product with a note of "patent pending."

The wheel works by providing a variety of statistics as one turns the wheel and point the red arrow towards a specific country or state. As the wheel turns, information appears in the slotted holes. Statistical categories include total area, capitol, important city other than capitol, population, main river and highest point, to name a few.

Dating the Geographical & Statistical Wheel

The European map shows the continent when Czechoslovakia as a democratic republic, before the split into Slovakia and the Czech Republic in January of 1933. The population of the continental United States is given to be roughly 127.5 million which is more than the 1930 census data of 123 million. These two factors lead us to believe this statistical wheel to have been made in 1932.

Condition: This item is in A condition and is in fine working order. Colors are bright and the wheel turns smoothly and feels very sturdy.
