By: London Illustrated News
Date: February 23, 1861
Dimensions: 16 x 10.75 in
A single page wood engraved print, showing absolute carnage in the Kingstown Bay of Dublin, Ireland. At least six ships in total can be seen, sailing and steam alike, being tossed about in the bay from intense winds and enormous waves crashing into the docks. Men in the lower left are seen with ropes attempting a rescue. The bay of Kingstown was known as Dunleary, until a visit by King George IV prompted the name change to Kingstown. Later in 1920, it was given it’s present name of Dun Laoghaire.
Condition: This print is in A condition, with no folds or tears. Mild toning around edges.
