A single page wood engraved print, showing the progress of the building of the underground tunnel to house the new Metropolitan Railway. This new system would run for over six decades, transporting both goods and people beginning after completion in 1863. The ditches that would later become the covered tunnels were 33 feet wide, dug primarily manually.
Condition: This print is in A condition, with no folds or tears. Mild toning around edges.
