A single page wood engraved print, of the scene immediately prior to the execution of Mary Queen of Scots. Originally a drawing by Sir John Gilbert, we see an officer reading the final rights, traditionally asking forgiveness for the murder that was about to be committed. The great hall of Fotheringhay Castle is draped with black cloth ceremoniously symbolizing a funeral.
Condition: This print is in A condition, with no folds or tears. Mild toning around edges.
