This full page color advertisement shows famous female dancer/comic Joan McCracken, known from the Broadway musical, “Bloomer Girl”. A renowned feminist piece set during the U.S. Civil War about a rebellious daughter of a hoop-skirt manufacturer. McCracken is seen sitting with her back against an ornate mirror, hiding the bright white Chesterfield cigarette package. The Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company was headquartered in Durham, North Carolina in 1911, and remains there to this day, operating as the fourth largest tobacco distributor in the United States.


Condition: This single page advertisement is in A condition, with no visible toning, color fading or tears. There are two small glue stains along the right side margin, as well as a magazine serial number stamp.
