A large single page, wood engraved print from the London Illustrated News, depicting the scene of the knighting of Francis Drake in 1591, by Queen Elizabeth I. The British sea captain and explorer is credited with the first completed voyage around the entire globe. The original scene was painted by Sir John Gilbert, and later engraved for mass production in this newspaper.
Condition: This print is in A condition, with no folds or tears. Mild toning around edges.
