This map by Nicolas de Fer, royal cartographer to both King Louis XIV of France and King Philip V of Spain depicts the strait between Sweden and Denmark. The strait, one of the busiest maritime passages in Europe if not the entire world, connecting Baltic Sea to the North Sea.

The map is embellished with a compass rose and a decorative title cartouche which includes a distance legend.

Condition: Map is in B condition with a single tear that extends several inches into the map from the bottom. This tear has been repaired on the verso and does not distract much from what is overall a strong print impression.
