An original late 19th century fine art print of a painting by the Italian artist, G. Cirardi that was on display at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This antique print,  was part of the 1893 Geo. Barrie publication of Art and Architecture by William Walton.

This lovely depiction of the beautiful city of Venice portrays a peaceful day on the water, spotting several Gondoliers and unique architecture.  The original description that accompanies this print describes the work as follows;

".....with his back to the island of S. Georgio Maggiore, the painter has in front of him the Dogana de Mare, or principal custom house, with its large gilded ball on the summit surmounted by a figure of Fortune, also guilded, that serves as a weather vane."

Condition:  This print is in A condition on heavy 19th century fine art paper that displays an embossed Columbian Exposition stamp of authenticity.  There are no visible tears, holes, or folds.
