This authentic antique map covers the Great Basin from Salt Lake City to the San Francisco Bay area. It illustrates the routes taken by three separate groups whose purpose it was to find a new and shorter route from the Great Salt Lake to the Pacific Coast.

The map covers all of California from San Diego to the Siskiyou Mountains, and from the Pacific Coast eastward to the Wasatch Mountain range and the Great Salt Lake. Features depicted include several forts, most known lakes, rivers and creeks, cities and towns, along with other topographical details.

Condition: This map is in B condition. Published folded, it has some minute holes at fold junctures. There is darkening of the folds and some foxing on the verso. Fold separations and minute tears in the outer borders have been repaired with archival material on the verso.
