Date: 1755 (published)

Dimensions: 24.5 x 18.75 inches (62 x 47.5 cm).

A beautifully engraved, large map of the eastern seaboard extending west to the Illinois and Mississippi rivers with a large insert of the coast of southern Carolina and Georgia.

This highly detailed map of the British colonies was based on John Mitchell's great map of North America from the same year. Many of the Colonies have yet to take their present day shape. There is a great amount of information on Indian tribe locations, the river systems and settlements along the coast and inland to the Mississippi River. This map is historical significant in that it was by produced one year in to the French and Indian War.

Condition: Map is in A condition with some light foxing and full a margins.
