A fine uncolored lithograph print of Colonel Elmer E. Ellsworth, 1st Regiment of New York Fire Zouaves. Ephraim Elmer Ellsworth was a U.S. Army officer and law clerk who was the first conspicuous casualty & the first Union officer to die in the American Civil War. He was assassinated at the capture of Alexandria, May 24th, 1861 while attempting to remove the Confederate flag from the roof of the Marshall House.
Condition: Sharp print on clean paper with light foxing.
