DESCRIPTION
This is a mid-century travel poster advertising the Caribbean. It was created by Leendert Spierenburg and printed by Kuhn and Zoon out of Rotterdam, Netherlands for KLM, Royal Dutch Airlines.
The vintage poster centers on the sun-weathered face of an elderly native man of the Caribbean. Surrounding are several art decco style scenes, representative of the art, culture, history, agriculture, and industry of the Caribbean. Below, a jet airliner flies out of a mid-century KLM logo that rests above what appear to be a runway marker that spans the bottom section of the poster. Spierenburg's signature appears just above.
CONDITION
This vintage travel poster is in B condition with a torn top right corner that has been restore through a professional linen backing process.
