Original antique lithograph prints of Major General John C. Fremont, who is regarded as one of the greatest American explorers that ever lived, particularly for his several multi-year expeditions into the west, with Christopher (Kit) Carson as his guide. Though not formally trained as a true military man, his service and leadership was vital during the Mexican-America war, especially with regards to taking California from Mexican control. He also served on behalf of the Union Army during the American Civil War, with less success as he was blamed for Nathaniel Lyon's Union defeat at Wilson's Creek.

Condition:  These prints are in B+ condition with some light damp-staining along the left margin. The uncolored print has a 1 inch tear in the top margin that has been repaired on the verso.
