An original late 19th century fine art print of a painting by the British artist Joseph Nash  that was on display at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This antique print,  was part of the 1893 Geo. Barrie publication of Art and Architecture by William Walton.

In this somewhat somber, yet humorous scene, of a drunkard is being carried to a drunk tank,  to possibly sleep it off his overdone night of alcohol use.  The original description that accompanies this print describes the work as follows;

"Under this apparently innocent title, the sarcastic painter has concealed a malicious little reference to the manners and customs of our ancestors, doubly malicious if we consider the time of day."

Condition:  This print is in A condition on heavy 19th century fine art paper that displays an embossed Columbian Exposition stamp of authenticity.  No tears, holes, or foxing.
