Dimensions: 9.75 x 7.25 inches (24.75 x 18.5 cm)

The map is considered uncommon and is in itself unique with regards to being in Italian, as most maps of the region were done in French or English. Issued at the close of the Frech-Indian War, it notes numerous tribes and forts throughout the Great Lakes region.

The colonies of Pennsylvania and New York are shown just below a region named "Irocchesi," which represents the Iroquois Nation. Michigan is shown with little information on the interior and it lacks the mountain range or high plateau that is found running North and South is other maps of the era. Fort Detroit is labeled "Forte dello Stretto." The map is a nice indication of the state of European cartographic knowledge and advancing settlements during the mid-18th century into what would become the Northwest Territory.

Condition: This map is in A condition with lovely full color and ample margins on all sides. The printing impression is strong and the paper is clean and bright.
