This antique map is the right sheet of a larger two sheet maps illustrating the extant of the Ancient Roman Empire in the year 400 AD. The present sheet extends from Greece and Lybia in the west, through Asia Minor, the Holy Land, including all of Persia and reaching as far east to include part of India. Both the Black and Caspian Sea are shown with some detail, but still lacking in places. In the top right corner, an inset map presents the Eastern Hemisphere with a partial continent of Australia (not named), and Japan with an enlarged Hokkaido.

Condition: This map is in B condition with multiple small tears along the edges where the paper has softened with age.  An area of damp staining is apparent in the bottom center of the map.
